Process: Combined all 29 quads by using a quad sheet coverage. The quads applicable to the park were singled out. The coverage was projected into Decimal Degrees. The basis for the coverage (quads sheet) was derived from a 7.5 minute quad map which then was parallel copied multiple times. The result is an outline coverage of all 29 quads with a boundry outline.
The other steps are unknown as the editor Tina Kapka, is no longer with the NPS.
Revisions: This is the only version which exists.

Data_Set_Credit USGS are originators of source analogue data and translation of data into digital format. Tina Kapka, GIS Specialist, formally of the NPS Branch of Mapping and Information Technology, Heritage Preservation Services, compiled the 29 quads listed above into a single layer.
Marie Frias, GIS Coordinator, C&O Canal NHP, NPS compiled the metadata contents of this coverage. Updates and maintenance for the data will be done at the GIS office at the C&O Canal NHP, NPS, Sharpsburg, MD.
