Automation of Reports and Consolidated Orders System

This bulletin has been prepared by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Diversion Control, ARCOS Unit, to assist participating ARCOS registrants with the preparation and submission of required DEA controlled substance transaction reports to ARCOS.

New ARCOS-2 Error Codes:

E24 - THE RECORD HAS UNREADABLE FIELDS. PLEASE RESUBMIT.

The E24 Error Code is issued when a transaction record has unprintable or unreadable data in one or more fields.

E29 - QUANTITY MUST BE GREATER THAN ZERO.

The E29 Error Code is issued when the Quantity is zero or blank and the Transaction Code is not equal to '7' or '8'.

E37 - STRENGTH MUST BE BLANK.

The E37 Error Code is issued when the Strength Field is not blank on a transaction that includes a Kit NDC Number.

Effective Date: February 2002 ARCOS Reports.

Revised ARCOS-2 Error Code:

E07 - ACTION INDICATOR DOES NOT MATCH THE ORIGINAL RECORD.

The E07 Error Code is issued when the Action Indicator on an ERROR Correction Transaction does not match the Action Indicator used in the original rejected transaction. The Action Indicator of the original rejected transaction must be used when submitting a correction.

Effective Date: April 2002 ARCOS Reports. However, for ARCOS PC Field Edit users the Effective Date will fall in the month/year immediately following distribution of the next version of the ARCOS PC Field Edit Application.
