I urge you and the FDA to reconsider these proposals based on the simple fact that the people of this country and every other one for that matter should have the right to know what they are consuming regardless of the "economic hardships" it might place on the billion dollar biotech industry's profits. By labeling genetically modified foods you would protect not only the health and safety of the people but also their rights. I know its a somewhat revolutionary idea to protect the citizen's individual rights from so-called "economic progress" and the "rights of business to make a profit", but I don't believe the rights of institutions not of flesh and blood should trump the rights of individuals, who are in fact composed of flesh and blood. I firmly believe the rights of the people outweigh the "rights" of a particular or all industries to make money despite the will and or well-being/health of the people. Just once I would like to see a government agency act in the interest of the people over the profit mad multinational corporations and you and your agency could make it happen. Please see to it that genetically modified food is labeled as such. We have a right to know. You know it, Bill Lord 31-90 41st Street #3L Astoria NY 11103 brak181@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
