J. Roberts - It's Titled "What's Blinding the World". Your friend might want to contact my friend Linda Kaspari at Focus - focus@focusnewsletter.org As you know, RP, by itself can cause blindness so when they start using a "blinding agent" it would naturally speed up the disease. The wood alcohol in aspartame converts to formaldehyde and formic acid in the retina of the eye and destroys the optic nerve. Class action cases include aspartame triggered blindness although those have yet to be filed. The late Dr. Morgan Raiford was "the specialist in methanol toxicity" in the US and even testified before Congress about the blinding effects of aspartame. I inherited some of his papers and he did say if vision was in the "wet stage" it could improve or return when you get off of aspartame. So we've seen many people's cases were their vision has even returned to 20/20. Some who were diagnosed as legally blind have had their vision return like Mary Reiff. She is a lady using aspartame who suffered an aspartame seizure and was in a terrible automobile accident. Eventually she was declared legally blind. We got her off aspartame and her seizures stopped. A few years ago I was on Texas TV with her. Her sight had completely returned, her seizures were gone and she was driving again. There is also 50% phenylalanine in aspartame which is neurotoxic and goes directly into the brain lowering the seizure threshold and depleting serotonin. Lowering serotonin can trigger manic depression, suicidal tendencies, mood swings, insomnia, etc. I noticed when I met Mary Reiff that her wrists were slit and asked her what happened. She said: "When I was using NutraSweet I kept wanting to commit suicide. I didn't know why, I just did. When I got off of aspartame those tendencies disappeared." You can understand why we have an epidemic of suicides in this country. In the news lately they talk about the coverup of antidepressants causing suicidal tendencies. The problem is we have 70% of the population and 40% of the children on aspartame triggering suicidal tendencies, and then being prescribed antidepressants which ALL interact with aspartame per H. J. Roberts, M.D., in the medical text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, www.sunsentpress.com or 1 800 827 7991. The FDA, of course, knows this. They were the one who tried to get the original manufacturer, Searle, indicted for fraud. Unfortunately both U.S. Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired. They kept aspartame off the market for 16 years and then Don Rumsfeld who at the time was CEO of Searle, said he would call in her markers and get it approved anyway. Rumsfeld was on President Reagan's transition team and the day after he took office he appointed Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes as FDA Commissioner to approve it. Even then the FDA set up a Board of Inquiry of the finest scientists they had to offer. It was their decision that aspartame was not safe and triggered brain tumors (breaks down to diketopiperazine, a brain tumor agent). They said to revoke the petition for approval. And Bob Flint (greatfalls@gwi.net) has a CD which has the original Board of Inquiry report, one of the congressional records and Dr. John Olney's testimony to the Board (founded the field of neuroscience called excitotoxicity). Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes over-ruled the Board of Inquiry and then went to work for the PR Agency of the manufacturer and has refused to talk to the press ever since. In fact, if you go to www.dorway.com and have audio you can hear the Fox News expose of aspartame in Washington, D.C. several years ago. They actually went to Dr. Hayes home and asked him why he did it and he closed the door in their face. After vocally screaming that aspartame was not safe for 16 years, once approved, the FDA commenced to tell the world this was a safe food additive, and willingly listed all the manufacturer's propaganda on their web site to mislead the world. You can understand the FDA couldn't say "yes we approved aspartame, but it is poison", so they sold out the health of the world. What should have been done? These FDA scientists should have gotten on TV and said: "A political ploy approved aspartame. It is not safe, don't use it." Yes, maybe they would have lost their jobs and their pensions and their revolving door to industry's high paying jobs. But they could have maintained something more valuable, their integrity and position before God. Millions of lives would have been saved. And millions today who live in blindness could see. I've never known personally but one man who worked for the FDA who had integrity and cared more for people's lives than a job, and that's Arthur Evangelista. He left the FDA because of their corruption and you will see his note on www.wnho.net (click on aspartame) that aspartame is deadly neurotoxin unfit for human consumption. These people are rare gems. In l986 the Community Nutrition Institute in Washington D.C. petitioned the FDA to ban aspartame because it was causing consumers to go blind. The story was told in the Chicago Sun Times, October 17, l986. The FDA had an opportunity to redeem itself and now outlaw aspartame. By this time the FDA was known as the handmaiden of the pharmaceutical industry and again sold out the people. The FDA in this country serves above the law. I filed a petition with the FDA for aspartame to be banned two years ago in June, based on the fact that I have their records and aspartame is a deadly chemical poison, and they lie to the public. The law states they have 180 days to answer me. They never have because they can't. They know I refuse to accept a packet of federal registers which is their usual modus operandi. They are mostly concerned with snatching healthful supplements for industry like they recently did with ephedra, used for thousands of years. Aspartame damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death, no doubt why so many athletes are dropping dead. They used ephedra as an excuse so they wouldn't have to tell the world aspartame triggers an irregular heart rhythm, interacts with all cardiac medication and causes sudden death. These articles are on www.wnho.net (click on aspartame). I'm going to send this over to the I-see list and the owner Alex Eulenberg, who may be able to give you more information. I know there is an RP list. Someone there may be able to give good advice to the physician. Also, have Dr. Kohdr go to www.whno.net, click on aspartame and read Dr. Blaylock's paper on "What To Do If You Have Used Aspartame". The information is taken from his book Health & Nutrition Secrets To Save Your Life which has such valuable information, www.russellblaylockmd.com All my best, Betty At 07:34 PM 5/16/2004, Christiane Martens wrote: >Dear Betty, > >A friend, Mohamed Kohdr M.D. is suffering from retinitis pigmentosa which is >considered a genetcally inherited disease.
