Results for BG E calculated 2 ways - Actual Summed BG E in cone (1000 EVENTS)

The method using GRID energy without cuts and then multiplying by the ratio of Ecuts/ENo cuts shows a much smaller RMS than the currently used BG calculation method. The PtCut of 2GeV leads to a smaller overall energy in the GRID but it worsens the fluctuations between GRID towers and so contributes to worsening the calculation of the BG energy inside the cone.

Points are the mean and error bars indicate the RMS of the distributions shown below.
