Overview: e-PRODDER Southern African
Development Listserv Case Study

Summary
e-PRODDER is a weekly development information e-mail service that collects and disseminates information on all southern African development issues and role players, using a variety of media.

Goal
It is PRODDER's mission to provide an appropriate, comprehensive, and dynamic development information service to people and organizations. The main objective of the e-PRODDER-mail service is to inform the southern African development community of important and interesting events and initiatives in the development field.

The Process
The e-PRODDER mailing list is provided free of charge every Monday to any interested individual or organization with an e-mail address. Those interested in becoming e-PRODDER-mail subscribers will be added to the list on request. The e-PRODDER-mail service covers the following categories of information:
  • general development news
  • conferences/workshops/meetings
  • exhibitions and fairs
  • training courses
  • vacancies in the development field

e-PRODDER is compiled by the Programme for Development Research (PRODDER) at the Human Sciences Research Council, in partnership with the South African National NGO Coalition. PRODDER welcomes input or contributions to future editions from anyone with news that fits into its categories of interest.
