This warden message is being issued to alert U.S. citizens residing in and traveling to Haiti that at 2:00 p.m. (EDT) the National Hurricane Center (NHC) http://www.nhc.noaa.gov advised that satellite pictures indicate that there has been little change with the broad area of low heaviness centered near the Eastern Dominican Republic during the past several hours.

This Warden Message is being issued to alert U.S. citizens residing in and traveling to Haiti on the effects of the extreme rainfall and disastrous flooding related to Tropical Storms Gustav, Hanna, and Hurricane Ike. U.S. citizens should avoid the regions most severely affected by the flooding and be prepared for travel delays in other parts of the country.

It is still too early to say what land areas are likely to be impacted by this hurricane.
