FirstEnergy Announces Support of Automotive Supply Chain Trade Mission to Mexico

UTILITY PROVIDER TO PAY 1/2 OF FEE FOR QUALIFIED CUSTOMERS!

MISSION DATES:  March 26 - 30, 2007

FirstEnergy and the US Commercial Service have announced a strategic partnership to help US companies grow sales through increased exports to Mexico's booming automotive clusters.

The U.S. Commercial Service is organizing an Automotive Industry Trade Mission focused on Supply Chain opportunities in both northeastern (Monterrey & Saltillo) and central (Aguascalientes & Silao) Mexico’s automotive clusters. This event offers a timely and cost-effective opportunity for U.S. firms to tap into fast-growing markets for automotive equipment, technology and services.

Target sectors holding high potential for U.S exporters include:

- Process engineering design
- Sub-assembly
- Stampings
- Tool and die maintenance and fabrication
- Plastic component parts
- Progressive stamping dies
- Cutting tools and lubricants
- Industrial safety equipment
- Process controls and testing equipment
- General industrial supplies

Mission participants will benefit from country briefings, four days of one-on-one appointments with pre-qualified business contacts, and high-level meetings with government officials and business leaders.

Who can participate:

This event is designed to provide U.S. small-to-medium sized, export-ready clients of FirstEnergy located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey with an efficient, cost-effective opportunity to enter or expand sales in the Mexican market and establish profitable commercial relations with prospective agents, distributors, end-users, or joint venture partners.

Why FirstEnergy?

FirstEnergy will help you offset the cost of participating in this event if you are a qualified customer. The participation fee for clients of FirstEnergy is $2,450 per company (one-half the normal fee).  $330 for each additional company representative.

You may ask yourself, why does an electric utility want to help my business? It is basic economic theory, the more sales FirstEnergy can help generate for tir customers, the more production capacity in the form of employees, machinery and equipment, and/or energy or energy-related services may be needed, immediately, or long-term. So, FirstEnergy and their customers in the geographic regions served will benefit.
