Crystal Dam
Summary: Crystal Dam is a double-curvature, thin arch concrete dam located in the Black Canyon on the Gunnison River in west-central Colorado, six miles downstream from Morrow Point Dam. The dam has a structural height of 323 feet and a crest length of 635 feet at crest elevation 6772.0. The reservoir stores 25,200 acre-feet of water at elevation 6755. Purposes of the reservoit are for irrigation storage, hydroelectric power generation, and recreation. Crystal Dam was constructed during the years 1973 through 1976. Release facilities at the dam consist of a spillway, outlet works, and a powerplant.

Morrow Point Dam
Summary: Morrow Point Dam is a feature of the Colorado River Storage Project. This dam is operated as part of a system which includes Flaming Gorge Dam on the Green River, Blue Mesa, Morrow Point, and Crystal Dams on the Gunnison River, Navajo Dam on the San Juan River, and the furthest downstream structure, Glen Canyon on the Colorado River.

Uncompahgre National Forest
Summary: The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests unit is a combination of three separate National Forests located on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies. The Uncompahgre National Forest covers more than one million acres that include tableland and four mountains that are over 14,000 feet: Uncompahgre Peak, Mount Sneffels, Mount Wilson and Wetterhorn Peak.
