Question - What is the first CPU socket number on a motherboard
that accepts Intel Pentium processors?
Socket 5 was the first Pentium motherboard that would accept a Pentium chip.
If you are planning on changing chips, be very careful! Intel uses
different voltage ratings on their chips. Some of the older chips ran at
3.3 volts and newer chips run at 2.8 volts. If you are planning a CPU
upgrade on an older computer, check with the manufacturer first.
Hope this helps,
