Mowing and Trimming Services: " Large Natural Fields, Open Spaces and/or Road Right of Ways: Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the Mowing of large natural fields, and /or open spaces, and road right of ways. All turf grounds shall be policed for trash, litter, debris and it shall be removed prior to operation. The turf shall be mo wed at a height between 3 and 6 inches on a schedule of between 7 and 15 days as requested by client. To assure a high quality cutting, all mower blades shall be sharpened prior to operation and all mowers shall be kept in top maintenance condition. Grass clipping s from mowing operation shall be allowed to decay naturally to keep with our environmental procedures. Excessive clippings will be removed only upon request and as a separate charge. Edging and Trimming: " Detail Mechanical Edging - Steel Blades Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the detailed mechanical Edging of hard curbs with a walk behind steel edge mechanical edger. To assure a high quality edge of approximately 0.5 inch all mower blades shall be sharpened prior to operation a nd all walk behind edger shall be kept in top maintenance condition to assure a high quality of work. Prices are based upon referenced areas being maintained within the previous 6 months. Proposed costs are based upon providing this service on a bi-weekly bases. Weeding Control Services: " Chemical Spray Weed Control - Mulched Areas Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the Weeding of Mulched areas by use of "Round-up" spray chemical or equivalent. Weeds shall be sprayed on an ongoing schedule as requested by client within the assigned area. Work will be performed under t he direction of a certified pesticide applicator in accordance with product label use and approved industry guidelines. Work performance is subject to current State Certification of Pesticide Applicator License of for project location. Prices are based upon refere nced areas being maintained within the previous 6 months. Proposed costs are based upon providing this service on a monthly bases. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE " Chemical Spray Weed Control - Sidewalk and Paved Areas Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the Sidewalk and Paved Areas by use of "Round-up" spray chemical or equivalent. Weeds shall be sprayed on an ongoing schedule as requested by client within the assigned area. Work will be performed under t he direction of a certified pesticide applicator in accordance with product label use and approved industry guidelines. Work performance is subject to current State Certification of Pesticide Applicator License of for project location. Hand Weeding shall be performed on an ongoing schedule as requested by client. Work will be performed by skilled work with training and expertise. Prices are based upon refe renced areas being maintained within the previous 6 months. Proposed costs are based upon providing this service on a bi-weekly bases. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE 4. Mulching Services: " Hard Wood Mulch and Installation Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with Mulching assigned area. Material shall be top quality double shredded hardwood mulch of deep rich dark color. Mulch depth shall be a minimum of 2 inches. Mulch shall be free of any weeds, trash, and debris . Finished mulched areas shall be even, natural surfaces look and a neat and attractive appearance. Prices are based upon referenced areas being maintained within the previous 12 months. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE " Removal of Existing Mulch Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the removal of existing Mulch in existing plant beds as requested. Old mulch shall be removed from site by contractor. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE 5. Leaf Removal Services: " Leaf Removal Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the Removal of Leaves within the assigned area. All leaves and natural debris will be gathered and removed from the site. This work will be performed by use of backpack blowers, leaf vacuum machines and ha nd raking. Prices are based upon referenced areas being maintained within the previous 12 months. .Leaf Removal Service shall be in referenced areas is based upon medium tree density with moderate site difficulty. Additional man hours maybe needed for heavily wood ed areas. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE 6. Fertilization and Soil Amendments: " Nitrogen Turf Fertilization and Application Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the Nitrogen Turf Fertilization as requested by client within the assigned area. Fertilizer shall be applied at a rate that will pervade the equivalent of 1 pound of nitrogen per 1000 square feet. Fertiliz er service shall be applied in areas based upon existing turf varieties and medium density with moderate site difficulty. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE " Lime and Application Provide all labor, equipment, and material associated with the Liming as requested by client within the assigned area. Soil Amendment shall be applied at a rate that will pervade the equivalent of 50 pounds of lime per 1000 square feet. Soil Amendment service shal l be applied in areas based upon existing turf varieties and medium density with moderate site difficulty. Cost of service = CALL FOR QUOTE B. Plant Supply and Installation Services: 1. Plant Material and Installation: " Tree and Shrub Installation Specification -General Planting Operation Plants shall be either Balled and Burlapped, Bare Root, or Containerized. Plants shall be dug and handled with root system intact and as a complete solid root ball. The size (diameter and depth) shall be sufficient to encompass the fibrous root feeding system and as specified by A.A.N Standards. Root balls shall be adequately protected at all times from sun and/or drying winds. Plant material shall be bound with wire or rope, and tarp to minimize any damage in transit. Initial Watering shall be performed as part of plant i nstallation. " Tree and Shrub Installation Specification - Excavation of Planting Area All planting pits shall have the sides and bottom scarified to ensure proper soil interaction with plant material's root ball. If extraneous material; such as stones, earth clods, sticks, minor construction debris, etc., is encountered when excavating, it shall be removed by contractor. A plant pit shall be excavated for each plant provided as follows: Balled and Burlapped: Excavation shall be a minimum of six (6) inches wider than the plant root ball diameter. Containerized Plants: Excavation for container plants shall be twice as wide as the plant container. Bare Root Plants: Excavations shall be at least six (6) inches wider than the root spread and deep enough to allow setting of roots or a cone of compacted fill. General Planting Operation for each plant shall as stated in the following guidelines: Balled and Burlapped: Plant material shall be set plumb and held in position until the planting soil has been tamped solidly around the ball and roots. Ropes or strings shall be cut from the top of the ball after plant has been set. Burlap or cloth wrapping sha ll remain intact around root balls. Top wrapping top, one-third (1/3), shall be folded back or removed. Plants shall be set approximately one-eighth (1/8) the depth of the root ball higher than the relationship to finished grade as they bore to the ground from wh ich they were dug. A soil saucer shall be formed around trees and shrubs. Planting pits and planting beds shall be mulched with, a minimum layer of two (2) inches and a maximum layer of three (3) inches, of shredded hardwood mulch. Upon completion, all tags, label s, strings, surveying tape, etc. shall be removed from all plants. Containerized Plants: Excavation for container plants shall be twice as wide as the plant container. Planting pits and planting beds shall be mulched with, a minimum layer of two (2) inches and a maximum layer of three (3) inches, of shredded hardwood mulch. Up on completion, trees shall be staked, all tags, labels, strings, surveying tape, etc. shall be removed from all plants. Containers shall be completely removed around the roots before planting. A razor knife or equal shall be used to cut an incision a minimum o f one-inch (1") into the root ball from top to bottom. A minimum of four (4) vertical incisions shall be made per plant before planting. Bare Root Plants: Excavations shall be at least six (6) inches wider than the root spread and deep enough to allow setting of roots or a cone of compacted fill. Planting pits and planting beds shall be mulched with, a minimum layer of two (2) inches and a maximum layer of three ( 3) inches, of shredded hardwood mulch. Upon completion, all tags, labels, strings, surveying tape, etc. shall be removed from all plants. " Tree and Shrub Installation Specification - Planting Mix Backfill Contractor shall back-fill all planting pit areas with a mixture of 90% existing excavated topsoil and 10% LEAFGRO (organic matter). Planting mix shall be proportioned and thoroughly mixed prior to any back filling of planting pits. " Alternative Plant Installation Option : Contractor shall be responsible for furnishing and planting the listed trees. Planting holes for trees shall measure 6 feet across with 5 pounds of Milorganite and 100 pounds of inch to #4 slate or shall (Solite or Stalite) thoroughly mixed in each hole with exi sting site soil. All trees shall be kept vertical by staking with 3 - 2" x2" x8'0" stakes, 12 annealed zinc coated wire in hose, with no tree wrap. Trees to have 4'6" saucer around the hole with all excess excavated material removed and disposed of off site at no expense to the client. Trees shall be thoroughly watered at planting by open-end hose at low pressure to field capacity and mulched to a loose measurement of 3". Proposed cost of alternative service = CALL FOR QUOTE " Groundcover and Perennial Installation Specification Contractor shall layout planting beds as directed by client. Planting beds shall be rototilled to a depth of six (6) inches. Planting beds shall be smoothed out and uniformly graded to conform to existing grades. Planting bed edges shall be smooth, continuous and mulched to a depth of two (2) inches. Plants shall be installed at a rate and depth as recommended by A.A.N Standards for the specific groundcover or perennial. Recommended Planting Seasons Deciduous Trees and Shrubs: March 1st to June 30th, or September 1st to November 30th. Evergreen Trees, Shrubs and Vines: March 1st to June 30th, or September 1st to November 30th. Perennials: March 1st to June 30th, or September 1st to November 30th. Bulbs: September 1st to December 15th McDonnell Landscape Inc. reserves the right to modify these dates due to local site conditions, etc. " Plant Installation - Expanded Work Contractor shall provide additional and associated services such as larger planting pit excavation areas, plant fertilizers, soil amendments, or modification to specified planting mix upon clients request at an additional cost based upon materials required and th e stated of hourly rates of our service categories.
