Maj. Paul Perkins assumes command of Waxahachie Composite Squadron

TEXAS -- Texas Wing's Waxahachie Composite Squadron conducted a change of command ceremony March 4. During the change of command, which was presided over by Group Four Commander Maj. Fernandez, 1st Lt. José Rivera turned over command of the unit to Maj. Paul Perkins. Major Perkins participated Civil Airt Patrol's cadet program from 1987-1983 as a member of the Blacksheep Composite Squadron in Mesquite, Texas. While there, he earned his Gen. Ira C. Eaker Award. He rejoined CAP in 1998 as a member of the Dallas Composite Squadron in Dallas, where he served as the cadet program's leadership officer, testing officer and administration officer. In 2001, Major Perkins transferred to the Addison Eagle Composite Squadron in Addison, Texas, and served as the unit's deputy commander for cadets, and in 2003, he was assigned as the Group 4 Cadet Programs development officer in 2003. Tje major is also on the Texas Wing Cadet Programs staff. After the command-change ceremony. Major Fernandez also presented awards and promotions to squadron members.
