Technical Abstract: Longspine sandbur found in the Pacific Northwest is a warm-season, annual grass that may behave as a perennial in areas with mild winters. It disperses primarily by attachment of seed to humans, animals, and equip¬ment. Sandbur is a North American native that has spread northward from its subtropical origins. Identification, biology, and control methods are illustrated and discussed in this regional extension bulletin.
