JOINT CERTIFICATION TO COURT OF APPEALS |
The parties to an appeal may jointly agree to certify the appeal to the court of appeals, using Official Form 24. This direct appeal procedure allows the circuit, if it chooses, to hear a notice of appeal, bypassing the district court. Eligibility requirements to pursue a direct appeal:

Procedure
1) Click on Bankruptcy>Filings>Appeal; or Hover over Bankruptcy, which cascades to Filings, which cascades to Appeal.
a) Enter Case Number (when the case number is input, there is a new Find Case button that will display all cases that have that number)
b) Click Next
c) Available Events(Click to select correct event – Joint certification to Court of Appeals) (Please note to right in the Selected Events field the event appears, if incorrect click to remove events)
d) Click Next
e) If Joint filing with other attorney(s). If yes check box.
f) Click Next
g) Select the Party
i) (If Party is not present/click Add/Create New Party)
ii) Click Next
iii) Be sure to Link Party and Attorney, if applicable
iv) Click Next
h) Select the pdf document file from Browser
i) Attachments to Document (No/Yes)
ii) Click Next
i) Refer to Existing Event(s)? If yes check box.
i) Click Next
ii) Select the category to which event relates (highlight all categories).
iii) Click Next
j) Select the appropriate event(s) to which event relates: (check mark in the box).
i) Click Next
k) Docket Text: Modify as Appropriate
i) Click Next
l) FINAL DOCKET TEXT
