Old news
- [Nov.2004] Talked about ME-generators in CDF Simulation at Joint
Physics Meeting on Nov. 24th. Slides are
here.
- [Nov.2004] Update a procedure for running LesHouches in
MCProd with multi-run number sequaence.
- [Nov.2004] Link to
Kathy's page
for the instruction of MCProd with LesHouches module.
This page will go to public page.
- [Apr.2004] Update MadGraph interface, which has spin
information in each particle. To avoid confliction with old version of
MadGraph (without spin), we add a new generator ID as "MadGraph3".
The calling sequence will be
- LesGenType set MadGraph3
- [Apr.2004] Set the first event number to read from event file.
- firstEventToRead set (int.)
- [Apr.2004] Set resonance particle (W or Z) in the event history, if
lepton pair apears sequentialy in event.
- putResonance set [true] or [false]
- [Apr.2004] Set energy scale for the parton shower based on
kt-clustering algorithm. In this case, the PS-scale is overwritten by a
new scale recalculated by kt-cluster. Otherwise, the original scale in the
event file is used.
- scaleOfKtClus set [true] or [false]
- [Nov.2003] STDHEP file is available for input/output.
- useStdhep set 1 or 2 for WRITE/READ STDHEP file,
- StdhepFileName set [filename]
- NumOfStdEvent set (int.) for storing/reading number of events.
- [Aug.2003]
PYXTRA ver.4.0 routine provided by S. Mrenna is included in
Madgraph interface.
To keep consistency with the original code of Madgraph, a new
generator ID, PYXTRA-MadGraph is added. Users can use this ID in
a tcl file:
- LesGenType set "PYXTRA-MadGraph"
Users have to check if their event file format includes spin
information.
The scale for ISR is decided by kt-clustering in this routine. But
HERWIG does not care this scale. Since tauola decay package
is already included in CDF offline code, the tauola in this routine
was removed from the original code.
Legacy from Winter 2003 conf.
One may want to use it under CDF offline code 4.9.1.
However, there were big differences between 4.9.1 and 4.11.1.
- no LesHouchesModule in 4.9.1.
- root ver.3.03/07 to ver.3.05/04.
- HERWIG ver.6.4 to ver.6.5.
So that, we need to do the followings:
- Copy :
- LesHouchesModule.hh to ./LesHouches/LesHouches/,
- HerwigMenu.hh to ./LesHouches/LesHouches/,
- LesHouchesModule.cc to ./LesHouches/test/,
- HerwigMenu.cc to ./LesHouches/test/.
- Edit :
#include "generatorMods/LesHouchesModule.hh" to
#include "LesHouches/LesHouchesModule.hh",
and #include "generatorMods/HerwigMenu.hh" to
#include "LesHouches/HerwigMenu.hh" in
- ./LesHouches/src/les_upinit.cc
- ./LesHouches/src/les_upevnt.cc
- ./LesHouches/test/LesHouchesModule.cc
- ./LesHouches/test/HerwigMenu.cc
- ./LesHouches/test/LesHouchesModule_test.cc
- Edit ./LesHouches/test/GNUmakefile :
- remove "LesHouchesModule_internal",
==> TBINS = LesHouchesModule_test,
- add "HerwigMenu.o LesHouchesModule.o"
==> override LOADLIBES += HerwigMenu.o LesHouchesModule.o -lgeneratorMods -lLesHouches -lwbbgen_i
- add line,
==> LIBCCFILES = $(filter-out $(skip_files),$(wildcard *.cc))
- Comment out : in HerwigMenu.cc
- herwig->Hw6500() -> prespl = _prespl_Parm.value();
- herwig->Hwgupr() -> lhsoft = _lhsoft_Parm.value();
Then, gmake etc..
