THE ROCKEFELLER UNIVERSITY 1230 YORK AVENUE NEW YORK, NY 10021 October 9, 1979 JOSHUA LEDERBERC PRESIDENT Admiral Noel Gayler Box 5465 Steamboat Village, Colorado 80499 Dear Admiral Gayler: I was very glad to have a chance to talk to you at the Defense Science Board. You mentioned something about wishing to stay in touch, and particularly that New York might be convenient for you with your family here. I would certainly enjoy that and I suspect that there is a great deal about this campus, although its specialty of biomedical research is somewhat removed from your own, that might strike a resonant chord with you. I am enclosing some material that might convey some of that spirit although the most pertinent item is now at the printer and I will send it to you in a few weeks. In fact, if it should happen to be convenient for you to visit us during one of our degignated Evenings as described on the attached description I would be more than happy to see you then. However, please don't fail to take advantage of any more casual opportunity that may come your way. Yours sincerely, .
