Switchyard Talks Volume V
Resonant Extraction
Presented by
Brian Drendel and Arden Warner
April 3, 1996
Length :55

This is the 5th in the series of Switchyard talks given during the spring shutdown of 1996. As with all the other Switchyard talks, it begins with Bob Mau discussing various topics of the day. The introduction to this talk also includes Wally Kissel discussing some SOD information as well.

            Arden Warner, Resonant Extraction
            Length :30

Arden’s portion of the talk delves heavily into the mathematical derivation of resonant extraction. He ties together the entire pictures from first principles relating to tune, all the way to the actual position of some equipment. His portion of the talk is a good look at the physics behind the subject.

            Brian Drendel, Resonant Extraction
            Length :25

Brian’s portion of the talk deals more with hardware and interface considerations. He discusses parts of the hardware of the QXR and Bucker systems. He also explains control room interfaces, including PA’s and parameter pages. It’s a good ground up, level by level discussion of hardware and software involved in the resonant extraction.
