DELUGE is an excellent example of a major port's large fireboat of the 1920s. Fireboats remain important aspects of port activities, protecting life and property afloat and ashore as an indispensable, work-a-day contribution to the nation's maritime trade and commerce.

As of August, 2004, the owner of the DELUGE is completing its restoration.
