When I CHOOSE to buy a product in a supermarket, or at Costco, I CHOOSE to sign up as a member in order to receive products at a lower cost. Thankfully, the government does not step in to "protect me" by demanding that these stores: Disclose how many lawsuits they've had, Disclose how many members have quit (or decided to let their membership expire), Provide me with a list of other members who live near me (seriously!) And they certainly don't demand that I WAIT MORE THAN A WEEK TO SIGN UP AND RECEIVE MY DISCOUNTS - in case I was making an "overly-impulsive" CHOICE! If Costco, Sam's Club, and pretty much every supermarket in the country don't have to do any of this, why should a stay-at-home mom running a part time business out of her home? Of course it's important for the government to to protect us. But the FTC should stick to following up on legitimate COMPLAINTS, not making life even more difficult on honest, hard working Avon Sales Associates and Mary Kay Reps! BACK OFF on this proposed law!
