Summary of July 24th mtg Attending: Y2K, Mario, Luciano, Mel, Richard (phone), Patrizia, Marco, Avi. - Was too early for a discussion. We think we are ok, but we'll (Y2K and myself) to right something for next time. - Mario has mapped completely the COT occupancies, and data sizes for both data (broken down by instantaneous luminosity) and MC. From this we can extract the luminosity dependence. It may be that the extrapolation will not be too bad as we have 8 sets of 5 points each that have to fit the same curve. Luciano and Mario promised to do it. Arnd is coming back tomorrow, I hope we can feed him all these numbers and that he'll combine them into a bullet proof TDC section. - Marco showed some very scary plot of SVT impact parameter for events of Jet20 merged with 5 min bias events. Using perfect XFT tracks, he gets the fraction of non-Gaussian tails to go from ~16% to ~68%. Under further investigation. - Richard scared us too. Described a study underway to use the same sample (Jet20+5 min bias) to look at XFT performance. So far looked at Pt and phi resolution. He sees it go from 2.5%/GeV (in the note) to 4.3%/Gev (now), and phi resolution from 8 to 17 mr. He also described a couple of other lines of investigation being followed: 1. toy MC to study resolution. reproduces current XFT performance. is used to show how a future device will behave. does not address fake rates. 2. thoughts about estimating fake rates reduction (in a future device), using its extra information. Promised to write a description of what was done, intermediate conclusions and possible directions. - Y2K went over the latest trigger table, incorporating Mel's latest set of comments. Some comments about justifications of SUSY triggers, documentation of known (e.g. inclusive CEM trigger), and text on wild speculation (e.g. muons). We skipped Z-->bbbar, COT performance, and Si tracking. Agreed to meet again Friday 1300, same place (trailer 171). Thanx a lot for the patience and all the work. Avi.
