MO Wing Conference
Written on 04/09/07 at 12:58:11 CST by Samuel Riehn
The Missouri Wing Conference will be here before you know it, and it is up to the CAC to decide on what activities will take place in this year's conference.  I think I speak for everyone when I say that last year's conference was a blast!  Do we want to have the same program, do we want to change the program, what do we want to add to the program?  What do you think?

Dude, I think there is just totally too many choices.   It kind of reminds me of when I go to a fast food restuarant, and there are like 10 different types of hamburgers.   All I want is a simple hamburger and fries.   It's kind of like a sensory overload.       Just kiding!!   I agree last years wing conferance was, as you say a Blast.   This is the time to start getting the ideas into CAC, so cadets get your ideas into CAC ASAP.

Not to get you guys off subject, but what exactly were some of the things happened last year? I had a prior engagement and was unable to attend.

I would like my cadets to attend this year. It would help me out. If I could tell them something about last year.

The Colonel can correct me if I leave out anything,

On top of the normal, Wing meetings, CAC Meetings, and Banquet...  there were several new activities that the National Guard came and hosted for the cadets and senior members,  the first night the National Guard guys setup several XBoxes with Halo2, and several other video games with snacks and stuff...  the second day they taught a DDR lesson that was very interactive and fun, along with alot of low ropes challenges and dodge ball...  I am probably forgetting some things, so again, anyone please correct me if I am

We would love to have your cadets come to this years conference, they are sure to have alot of fun

Hey, C/1st.Lt. Riehn don't be so modest.   Don't forget to say that at the Mo Wing Conference you also got elected as Mo wing's very own CAC Chairmen.   Oh, yea, I think you might have forgotten to mention the dance after the banquet.   Also the individual squadrons were given the opportunity to have a display showing what they did that year.   Otherwise you mentioned just about everything.

It's sounds like you guys had a blast last year. I will definitely look forward to doing it this year.

Not really, flying is much more awesome!
Shake-a-spear said it best when he wrote

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.

Yes, I know that it was a partial quote from Henry V, Act IV, Scene III; but you have to admit that he could have been talking about pilots.

Please ensure that cadets bring PT clothes for physical activities.  More than one cadet trashed their blues last year because that's all they had to wear.

I was just thinking. For Wing Conference you could do a grog. I remember doing it as a cadet, and it was a lot of fun! I have mentioned it to several of my cadets, and they liked the idea. Let me know what you think!

What is a Grog? I dont get IT!

 Re: MO Wing Conference
Written on 04/23/07 at 20:44:44 CST by Sarah Stuckstede
What has the world come to? You mean you don't know what the grog is!

Well the short version. There is rules of the mess, and if you brake any of those rules you will be sent to the grog! By the president of the mess! The grog is a concoction of mysterious liquids that is highly classified, and when you report to the grog you have to drink it! Oh yeah, and did I mention that you can send people to the grog by ratting them out to the president of the mess, but if they are found innocent. You get sent to the grog in there place! Sounds like fun doesn't it!

 Re: MO Wing Conference
Written on 04/24/07 at 05:54:23 CST by Micah LaVanchy
Yea, I have experiece with thre grog.   The only problem is that some cadets just love being sent to the grog, so after a while they start turning themselves in so they can go to the grog.   After a while it just becomes a real annoyance.

 Re: MO Wing Conference

Yes, there are a couple variations of the grog, its what you make of it. Anyhow, it all depends on how many people like sending you to the bowl for insignificant stuff...but hey, you start to get a stomach for it......sorta...

i'd say keep cool, that way some other "sucker" gets up there or the very person that had previously ratted you out gets the "opportunity" to try out the grog...

Hey, ladies, gentlemen, and fellow cadets, let's try to keep the shenanigans of dancing bananas and smilies in the appropriate forum.   This forum is SUPPOSED to be about ideas for the CAC to discuss regarding the Mo Wing conference and banquet/hoedown.

So, in other words, get back on track.

Definitions:

1. Shenanigan= high-spirited or mischievous activity--usually used in plural.

2. Hoedowns= square dancing or a gathering featering hoedowns.

3. Gentlemen= ??

4. ladies=

depends on the hotel, how many people will be rooming with you, and if your squadron helps defer any of the costs. If you were in your own room, it probably costs about $70/night. Hope that helps.

That just doesnt include any sleeping arrangements, so budget that into your costs.

Truman Hotel website says it's regular rates are:

2 Double Beds Non Smoking -- $80

and the document I posted earlier says there is a discount for CAP if you use the magic word "wing"

I suggest getting other members of your squadron to share a room to help ease the cost a little
