SECRETARY GLICKMAN TOURS CRP LANDS IN WASHINGTON STATE

     WASHINGTON, July 22, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
visit eastern Washington state on Thursday, July 24, to view Conservation
Reserve Program (CRP) lands and to hear farmers' concerns about the program
enrollment in their state.

     The Secretary's public schedule for the day is as follows:

1:00 pm   Site Visit
          Larry Wilkerson's Farm
          Nicoson Road
          Kennewick, WA
          Photo opportunity only

Directions: From Pasco/ Kennewick.  Travel on 395 South or 82 East to exit
114  - Locust Grove Road.  At the bottom of ramp,  head west on Locust Grove
Road approximately 1 mile to Nicoson road.  Turn left onto Nicoson Road.
Bear right at the fork about 3/4 mile down the road then continue
approximately 5 miles to the end of the road.

Directions:  From Pasco/ Kennewick.  Travel on 395 South or 82 East to exit
114 - Locust Grove Road.  At the bottom of ramp, head west on Locust Grove
Road approximately 1.5 miles, make a right onto Amon Road then bear right at
the fork.  The equipment shop is on the top of the hill.
