IGS Status Report, October 3, 1992
__________________________________
General Remarks :
- It is good to see that after 23 September 1992
- the observations of the entire core network cotinue to
flow into the three network centers CDDIS, IGN, and SIO,
- the analysis centers continue their analyses,
- the USNO and the IERS Central Bureau continue
with their contributions
This gives us the opportunity to discuss and define the status of the
IGS work between November 1992 and the start of the official service
at the IGS oversight committee meeting immediately after the end
of the DOSE meeting.
- I would like to thank all participants for their support. I know
that I was asking for a lot of work and goodwill !
- I was asked by Bruce Bills to chair the IGS session at the Dose
meeting. I would like to thank him to give the IGS oversight
committee the opportunity to present this status report of the IGS
work at the Dose meeting. The fact that an entire session was
scheduled for IGS at the DOSE meeting underlines the importance
of our work for the geodynamic research.
- Below you find the tentative schedules for the IGS information
session at the DOSE meeting and for the 3rd IGS oversight committee
meeting on 15 October (afternoon) and 16 October 1992.
- I will be at the Potsdam meeting from 5-10 October. Werner Gurtner
will check my e-mail and contact me and/or Carey Noll if there are
problems in connection with the two events scheduled below.
Schedules

IGS Session at the DOSE Meeting Thursday morning, 15 October 1992
_________________________________________________________________
As you can see below, there is almost no time left for additional oral
presentations. Nevertheless I would be most interested to see more
contributions from the user community as POSTER presentations. The
posters will be in the meeting room. Depending on the number of
posters, we will try to find some time (3-5 minutes) for a short oral
introduction to the poster.

A-S testing occurred during "19 Sep 92 0100 UT to 21 Sep 92 1000 UT" and
"26 Sep 92 0100 UT to 28 Sep 92 1000 UT", according to the file
pub/gps/gpstd.txt obtained from tycho.usno.navy.mil. Results for Sunday,
Sep 20, and Saturday, Sep 26, are not included in this submission. The
results for Monday, Sep 21, exclude data from Block-II satellites
acquired when A-S was on. (This explains the larger-than-normal formal
errors of LODR and polar motion parameters for that day.)
WARNING: No warnings for GPS week 663.
