Perkin Elmer Ultraview

Perkin Elmer Ultraview RS Specifications

The Ultraview RS is an Instrument optimized for high-speed acquisition for live cells imaging. Equipped with a dual-disk Nipkow confocal scanner and a piezo-electric focusing mechanism, the platform may achieve scan rates up to 100 frames per second on bright specimens (realistically, the actual scan rates may be limited by light throughput).

Microscope
Zeiss Axiovert 200 M microscope (Inverted)

Objectives
  10x Zeiss plan-apochromat dry, 0.45 NA
  20x Zeiss plan-neofluar dry, 0.50 NA
  40x Zeiss plan-neofluar dry, 0.75 NA
  63X Zeiss plan-apochromat oil, 1.4 NA
  100x Zeiss plan-neofluar oil, 1.30 NA

Fluorescence Filters Cubes (visual inspection only)
FITC / GFP: 450-490 nm excitation, 515-586 nm emission.
Rhodamin: 540-552 nm excitation, emission beyond 590 nm.
DAPI: 350-400 nm excitation, 417-477 nm emission.

Laser Lines (scanning only)
  Argon-Krypton: 488, 568 and 647 nm
AOTF switched (custom ROI, FRAP and FRET not supported)

Filter blocks (Scanning only)
FITC: 488 nm excitation, emission beyond 505 nm
FITC/Rhodamin/Cy5: triple excitation, band-pass emission on each channel (This filter has a poor efficiency and may severely limit the acquisition rates)
