Notice of Co-sponsorship of “Utopia: the Genius of Emily Kame Kngwarreye”

As one of its cultural and social contribution activities, Daiwabo Information System will co-sponsor "Utopia: the Genius of Emily Kame Kngwarreye" organized by Yomiuri Shimbun.

Emily Kame Kngwarreye (1910-1996) who was an Australian Aboriginal artist started to draw pictures on the canvas at the age of 80. She painted Aboriginal myths and tribal histories in addition to nature in Australia and her own view of the world. She is recognized as a modern artist of international importance.

This is a large retrospective exhibition celebrating the art of Emily Kame Kngwarreye and her significance to the art world. It exhibits her work chronologically and thematically to visitors who may be encountering it for the first time. The exhibition enables visitors to appreciate her work by presenting it in a different way from that of conventional art galleries.

May 28 - July 28, 2008: The National Art Center, Tokyo
