Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 537059
Firefox does not honor Gnome Input Settings
Last modified: 2009-11-16 07:48:11 EDT
Ok, sorry for the delay. Updated my netbook today with latest patches (FF 3.5.5) and now the behaviour is correct. Think this can be closed, now.
OK, let's try another line of offense. Are you able to reproduce the same problematic behavior when you run Firefox in the safe mode (i.e., run firefox from the command line as firefox -safe-mode)? If yes, could you please download upstream firefox binary from www.mozilla.com, unpack it to any directory, cd to it, and then run firefox as ./firefox. Are you still able to reproduce this behavior? Thank you in advance.
I confirm - Italian Language Extension present and enabled
This is strange. I am Czech, having Czech keyboard and Czech Firefox and everything works well. If you go to Tools/Add-ons/Language Extensions. Do you have Italian language pack present and it is not disabled? Thank you for filing this bug report.
Description of problem: With latest, Fedora 12 candidate (all updates applied) Firefox does not honor keyboard input settings. I have an italian (living in italy...) keyboard, with the system set in american english. At the gdm login, the correct keyboard appears (italian) and the system settings work ok in every application (gnome related) and also not gnome related (Chromium, WingIde). The exception is Firefox, which does not follow keyboard layout when entering text in forms and url address - it shows the behaviour of standard us keyboard layout. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Firefox 3.5.4-1.fc12 i686 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora 12 RC and all updates 2. Select a different keyboard from gnome preferences 3. Start Firefox and test the keyboard layout Actual results: Firefox maintains US English Keyboard Layout entering data Expected results: Firefox follows the settings of gnome preferences Additional info:
