FF test page - AJAX request NTLM problem (bug #331210)
Requirements:
- Windows XP with IIS
- Windows NTLM user account
- Firefox 1.5.0.x
Please note:
This issue should be reproducable with Apache webserver too - but this description is written for Microsoft IIS.
Instructions:
- copy files into IIS inetpub dir
- create an IIS application on this folder
- restrict web application access to Windows authentication (NTLM) only
- view page with FF
- authenticate yourself with your Windows credentials
- click several times on "click here!" link
- you will get authentication boxes in FF - but authentication will fail with the correct username/password
Description:
This page makes AJAX POST requests with the prototype library (http://prototype.conio.net). In combination with NTLM authentication
there is a problem.

If the AJAX request uses GET method instead of POST - everything works as expected!
