Enumerated below are the first tens of Hangul syllables(for modern Korean) listed in Unicode 2.0(or later) and ISO-10646. The encoding used is EUC-KR. KS X 1001:1997 on which EUC-KR is based has code points for only about a fifth of 11,172 syllables in modern Korean. However, KS X 1001:1997 has a provision by which the rest of syllables (8822 of them) can be represented by 8-octet-sequence. The first two octets oxa4d4 are the anchor to signify the beginning of the sequence and followed by six octets with initial consonant, medial vowel and final consonant represented by two octets each.

There are not many programs that support this representation. Among them are Hanterm and Hcode. Mozilla will support it very soon (ref. Mozilla bug 9962).
