The Mozilla Documentation Project is the central clearinghouse for documentation-related issues at mozilla.org. The aim of the project is to provide easy access to high-quality documentation about all aspects of the mozilla effort. In addition, the project aims to provide assistance (in the form of templates, tools, and resources) to anyone interested in contributing to the documentation effort.
While the documentation effort has proceeded for some time at mozilla.org, we'd like to make that effort consistent with other mozilla projects. In doing so, we hope to kickstart a more robust open-source documentation project.
Documentation
and Information
So what counts as documentation
? At some level, the entire mozilla.org site is
documentation. But we don't presume to keep tabs on all of that. Much of it is, well,
information (or meta-information, if you will) and not what we are regard as documentation.
By the latter, we mean tech notes, articles, guides, and books that explain how to
develop or use Mozilla. So, we're excluding project road maps and information about the
Mozilla organization itself, for instance, from our documentation project mission.
