Well, it looks like the PS3 rumors are flying again (this time the other direction). According to CNN Money, the PlayStation 3 might be a little farther away from reality than previously rumored.
As posted on the Linux Game Tome, "Michael Simms announced the eight winners of LGP's game development company intiative" yesterday. The list is worth checking out.
According to this Bloomberg article, we could see PS3 hit Japan in a few months (and here in the US by year's end). From the article: "Calls to the public relations department of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., Sony's game unit, were not answered." Speculations anyone? If it's true, I do not envy mothers with kids between 5 and 12 years old this Christmas.
Rockstar Games has updated their original hit, Grand Theft Auto, to run on 'modern' computers and released it for free to the public! It is (of course) Windows-only and utilizes the propietary DirectX API. Despite the limiting requirements, this is pretty cool. I just wish more gaming companies considered doing stuff like this.
