Checking & Savings

Current Balance

Your current balance is the actual balance in your account. The current balance includes all transactions that have been deposited into or debited from your account as of the close of the previous business day, as well as some transactions that have been deposited into or debited from your account today, depending on the time they were made.

Available Balance

Your available balance is the amount eligible for withdrawal.

Your available balance may be different from your current balance. Your available balance is affected by any deposited funds that have not yet cleared (e.g. holds on deposited checks) and other funds associated with pending debit or credit transactions not yet posted.

Pending transactions may include:

• ATM deposits or withdrawals*

• Branch deposits*

• Direct deposits*

• Online Banking transfers*

• ACH deposits or payments*

• Debit card purchases**

* These items may reflect in your available balance and not your current balance until they are posted against your account. Banks typically post transactions overnight on each business day. Bank business days are typically Monday through Friday, with the exception of Bank Holidays. Deposits made after the branch and/or ATM cut-off time will be considered next day deposits. In some instances, however, you may be able to access these deposits on the calendar day the deposit was made. In these instances, the funds will be accessible to you for withdrawal (at a branch or ATM), but will not be available to pay incoming ACH transactions or checks you have written.

** When you use your debit card, merchants may place an immediate hold on funds to ensure the transaction will clear. The hold is removed when the actual item posts to your account which can take more than one business day depending on the merchant.
